A so-so lesson. Given that I had a throbbing headache today, that's probably the best to be expected. The etude is still #41, which is all in thumb position after a short four-measure prologue. This means I need to read in treble and tenor clef again, which didn't work out very well.
Jeff gave me a new piece today that replaces my two previous pieces. It's David Popper's "Wie einst in schoener'n Tagen", and is just the saddest, most sorrowful piece imaginable. It's in E minor, and the rhythm isn't very difficult, at least in the first half. The hardest thing is the bowing, which needs to be pretty carefully done to avoid slipping up.
